Gorillaz - Journey To Plastic Beach

An album that in my opinion flew under the radar, and one of my favorite bands, the Gorillaz have put out a short film with some crazy animation. If you haven’t listened to the Plastic Beach album, you don’t know what you are missing.

I came across this video and I was so intrigued by the story line and how this cartoon was made off of every brand you can name. This is true creativity to make such a video out of big brand names; I applaud the producer for his thinking. This is a awesome video that you MUST check out, if you like action and cartoons, this is defiantly for you!

No Risk No Gain

A wise man once told me “That it is better to have crashed and burned than to have never flown at all.”

Photobucket
At a young age I was doubted and hated for thinking outside the box. Many adults tried to oppress my creative and freethinking. I was told college wasn’t for me and my grades weren’t good enough. Most people asked me the question, why would you leave home? Why would you risk it all? Every time I was asked I thought of what that wise man once told me and so I replied with “I rather live enormous then die dormant." So I left home, I stepped out the box! I went to college and in only 13 months I did more than half of what I was told I could not. I may not have much but all I have is a dollar and a dream and now days that’s not much! So I plan to invest that dollar and sell that dream.

So I leave you with these wise words

“So in Life, continue to be Better, Better than before, better than average, know Better, see Better, look Better, feel Better. PROGRESSION!” Fabolous

Stussy J Dilla Documentary

Stussy did a special documentary on J Dilla's life in Los Angelas, California. This is very interesting documentary with some very exclusive interviews, so for all my hip hop heads, this is for you....enjoy!

The Human Package

The human package from Alteroy on Vimeo.

''A material stop motion movie discussing the space between myself and my packaging.
Human packaging like that of any product portrays messages, some hidden and some exposed. Its purpose is as with any product to protect its contents. It beckons, distances, tempts, warns, exposes part of its contents and is directed at target audiences.''

But, what is the connection between the content and the packaging? Where do I end and the packaging begin? And what happens when it goes back under my skin?

Stadium Status

Stadium Status from Internets Celebrities on Vimeo.

“It’s hard being a sports fan these days.”

"Stadium Status is a documentary which examines the rush of new sports stadiums in NYC as the latest example of an obscene national trend. New stadiums are built every year and the private businesses that own them benefit from huge sums of public money for their creation. Are we getting our money’s worth?

Two year reflection on The Lollipop Affair

June 13, 2008 we went from going to parties to being the party and this is were it all began. Before I go further I want to thank the Obas’s (Simon and his brothers) as well as Travon and Roman for presenting us with the opportunity to throw such an event. Lil Wayne’s Grammy award winning album “The Carter 3” had come out just three days prior so in deciding on a theme we all agreed that his #1 single “Lollipop” should be the theme and that turned out to “The Lollipop Affair”. That night everyone came out in his or her best outfit in anticipation for an unforgettable night. With over 600 people in the venue, we gave lollypops out to the first hundred people and everyone had a memorable night. With joggling focusing on finals for high school and strategizing different ways to promote this event it was defiantly a stressful time, but determined to make this event set the tone for are names, we performed in the clutch. We also had help from a sweet friend Rachel Obas. This event transcended us to clearly see are true calling. Though we have yet to top this event, we look back two years later to see how we have impacted those who attended the event subconsciously. We congratulate the graduating seniors of 2010 from our Alma Mata Danbury High School in Danbury, CT. We thank everyone who attended the event. This was the spark that started it all.

Splash A Thon Summer Social Pool Party

After waiting for the flyers to come (they weren’t delivered on time) the Splash A Thon Summer Social turned out to be a fun day. A good amount of people came to network and have a good time with us and we appreciate all who came out. This was the first time we ever did a pool party and it went better than what we thought it would. We will have videos coming soon, but here are some photos.

"Juicy"

"Over the years I grew up listening to this song. I see the influence it has had on me and I personally can say it was for the better. This song has really pushed me to the point I’m at today. I know in the years to come I will continue to bang this track, hopefully one day my kids will be lucky enough to do the same."

Smoking with Cigarettes

Its sad to say what the youth of today has come to. With internet, television, movies and video games kids are being molded. For the most part not for the better. As you can see here, there are a couple videos of a seven year old acting out. Stealing his grandmothers car and beating her in a Wal-Mart. This storie was so wide spread, Aaron Mcgruder went as far as to make an episode about it on his show the Boondocks. This episode is wrapped around this child's Latarian Milton character.

People I want to hear your thoughts, tell me whats wrong with this picture?

What are we doing wrong ?

Global Warming....

"Most meteorological research is funded by the federal government. And boy, if you want to get federal funding, you better not come out and say human-induced global warming is a hoax because you stand the chance of not getting funded."

Soundtrack to my life....

Yeah.. my Lord.. yeah

Verse 1:
We sell, crack to our own out the back of our homes
We smell the musk at the dusk in the crack of the dawn
We go through “Epidodes II,” like “Attack of the Clones”
Work ’til we break our back and you hear the crack of the bone
To get by.. just to get by
Just to get by, just to get by
We commute to computers
Spirits stay mute while you eagles spread rumors
We survivalists, turned to consumers
To get by.. just to get by
Just to get by, just to get by
Ask Him why some people got to live in a trailer, cuss like a sailor
I paint a picture with the pen like Norman Mailer
Me Abuela raised three daughters all by herself, with no help
I think about a struggle and I find the strength in myself
These words, melt in my mouth
They hot, like the jail cell in the South
Before my nigga Core bailed me out
To get by.. just to get by
Just to get by, just to get by
We do or die like Bed-Stuy through the red sky
with the window of the red eye
Let the lead fly, some G. Rap shit, “Livin’ to Let Die”

[Chorus]
This morning, I woke up
Feeling brand new and I jumped up
Feeling my highs, and my lows
In my soul, and my goals
Just to stop smokin, and stop drinkin
And I’ve been thinkin – I’ve got my reasons
Just to get (by), just to get (by)
Just to get (by), just to get (by)

[Talib and background singers]
(ba ba ba, ba da bada, ba da bada, ba da bada, ba da badahh
Just to get (by), just to get (by)
Just to get (by by by by by by)
(ba ba ba, ba da bada, ba da bada, ba da bada, ba da badahh
Just to get (by), just to get (by)
Just to get (by by by by by by)

[Verse 2:]
We keeping it gangster say “fo shizzle”, “fo sheezy” and “stayin crunk”
Its easy to pull a breezy, smoke trees, and we stay drunk
Yo, our activism attackin the system, the blacks and latins in prison
Numbers of prison they victim black in the vision
Shit and all they got is rappin to listen to
I let them know we missin you, the love is unconditional
Even when the condition is critical, when the livin is miserable
Your position is pivotal, I ain’t bullshittin you
Now, why would I lie? Just to get by?
Just to get by, we get fly
The TV got us reachin for stars
Not the ones between Venus and Mars, the ones that be readin for parts
Some people get breast enhancements and penis enlargers
Saturday sinners Sunday morning at the feet of the Father
They need somethin to rely on, we get high on all types of drug
When, all you really need is love
To get by.. just to get by
Just to get by, just to get by
Our parents sing like John Lennon, “Imagine all the people watch”
We rock like Paul McCartney from now until the last Beatle drop

[Chorus: Background singers]
This morning…

Yoyoyo, yo
Some people cry, and some people try
Just to get by, for a piece of the pie
You love to eat and get high
We decieve when we lie, and we keepin it fly

Yoyoyo, yo
When, the people decide, to keep a disguise
Can’t see they eyes, see the evil inside
But there’s people you find
Strong or feeble in mind, I stay readin the signs

Free Shirts!

We had some leftover Dastardly shirts from an event a year ago and we decided to give them away at the Splash A Thon for free. These shirts were made by Chase’s older brother (its his brand) but this is the TH3 New Regime version. So the first 25 people will receive these shirts.

M.A.E.’s F**k Dancing (off of the More EP)

Dope Track from M.A.E. shot out to the homie Casey McGuire (TSE) Check Them out http://trustatement.com/

"This one will be on the Splash-a-Thon Playlist !" C3 from the 3rd_Kind

Here is an example of what can come from “too much” fun in the recording studio... The unofficial single that bans itself by title alone is M.A.E.’s “Fuck Dancing” and is receiving quite the internet response. The hypocritically danceable, hip hop and electronic fused crowd favorite “Fuck Dancing” is the single that will have you reminiscing of the days when people would actually DANCE! Backed by a video of hilarious YouTube generated content featuring the well known, unknown, old, young, talented and untalented who collectively put their moves on display for better or worse, “Fuck Dancing” is primed for the viral world. Kanye West - Power (1st single for New Album, Unfinished Version)

Your last album gets criticized by critics and fans because its not “Hip Hop,” America makes a mockery of a MTV rant that even made the President of the United States put his 2 cents in and it wasn’t pleasant, after a stint with ex girlfriend Amber Rose, that turned a ex stripper into a red carpet favorite and ended up with the two separating, Kanye has taken 9 months off in the island of Hawaii locked in his studio using (kanye has a studio in Hawaii) fuel from all the hatred casted against him to come out swinging like a champ. Kanye has done what many artists have not and that’s get better as there career progresses but this is a triumphant return. This is defiantly stadium status; this is a hand clapping, chest pounding and fist pumping rebellious song. This isn’t a rap star this a super rap star, the baton from Jay-Z and Eminem have been past and this is where the bar is set. Kanye has managed to make a new sound and stay to the roots of his flow. The sample from the British progressive rock band King Crimson’s “21st Century Schizoid Man” is just dope (for a unfinished track) I can only imagine this song live with all the instruments, that will be phenomenal, coming from one of the great performers of are time. Its good to also see him take a different approach and really shock everyone with this type of song, I don’t think anyone had this coming but then again Kanye always surprises us with something new so we should have been expecting something different. With all the problems (Haiti, Arizona, War, Oil spills) “Power” is the kind of song that is very suitable and what better way then to have Kanye take the step to address the issues as we know Kanye is known to speak his mind but when he talks we listen. If this is an indication of what Good Ass Job (the rumored title for his 5th studio album) then it looks like Kanye has another classic up his sleeve. I am hyped for the album and Chase and I can’t wait for it to come out!
